A complete design of a steel
structure frame of an industrial area with a crane
system according to EN Eurocodes, which is a prevalent
structure. Given the geometry, the technical
specifications of cranes, and other analysis data, the
structure will design step by step. First, load cases
will specify and then they will assign to the analysis
model elements appropriately. The design includes all
possible, relevant crane positions. Then, load cases
will combine appropriately, multiplied by load factors,
producing Ultimate Limit State and Serviceability Limit
State load combinations. Then comes the analysis of the
structure model and the steel frame design, so that
Ultimate Limit State and Serviceability Limit State
criteria will be fulfilled. Frame sections will
optimize, so that they will economically worthy. Last,
some typical weld and bolt connections will calculate
and they will show in detail drawings.
The aim of this thesis, is to
present an analytical example for the design procedure
of that type of structures or equivalent, according to
EN Eurocodes.
